I have done a lot of self-assessment jobs, and I’ve become a more and more aware of the importance of the work.
I think most people are unaware of this though, so it’s great to see someone take an interest in this issue.
It might be hard to find a job that you have no idea about, but I recently discovered that many of the jobs I’ve been asked to do, I’ve never heard of before. I guess I should have known that this is the case. There are a lot of jobs out there, a lot of people, and a lot of work. Some jobs are more popular than others, and some people are more likely to advertise for those jobs.
Another possible reason why jobs are so hard to come by is that you don’t always know what you want to do. I know that I’m not passionate enough to be a professional writer, and I don’t know what I want to do in life. I also know that having a job means that I’m likely to have to work a lot more than I’d like.
At the same time, though, if you dont know what you want to do, then you have to figure out what you want to do, and then figure out what you actually want to do. That way you are less likely to be stuck in job limbo.
I get that you don’t want to have a job. We all do. But it’s actually a lot more common than we think. Most people don’t actually know what they want to do with their lives. It’s like we all say, “I want to write books, but I dont know where to start.” I think we do it because we don’t know what we want to do with our lives. That makes it a lot harder to get a job.
Its also an issue when companies don’t even know what they want to do. For instance, we were recently talking to a recruiter who was looking for a new position. She said she was looking for a “writer”, but when we asked her what that meant, she said that she didn’t know what she wanted to do. So she was pretty much completely in job limbo.
For people who are just starting out we hear a lot about the necessity of having a great work experience. But when we were talking to a recruiter who was looking for writers, she said she was hoping for something in the creative writing or fiction writing fields. Well, thats exactly what we wanted to do. The same problem exists with people who apply for jobs. The companies dont know what they want, and they dont know what they want for their employees.
The only companies that know what they want from us are the ones in the tech industry that don’t have the tools or the jobs to make their own decisions. We’re stuck there because we want to work for one of them, but if the other company doesn’t know the same thing, its not even worth it.
As I have written above, most companies are clueless about what they want from us. And the ones that do know what they want, dont want to hear our opinions because they dont have the power to give us more than a paycheck. They want to build their companies into a giant cash cow. And with the billions in venture capital coming in each and every year, they dont have a way to stop that from happening.
