The fact is that the majority of our thoughts and actions are on autopilot. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing either. Our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions carry us through our lives so we don’t have to stop and think about it every time we wipe our ass or start a car.
The problem is when we’re on autopilot for so long that we forget we’re on autopilot. Because when we’re not even aware of our own habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, then we no longer control them they control us.

We use the time we’re on autopilot to reflect, to question, to re-examine our lives, to take risks and make decisions, to figure out how to get out of our comfort zones that we didn’t consciously choose. Self-aware people don’t need to stop and think about themselves every time we’re on autopilot; they just start to notice their behavior and stop it.
Many of the things you learn when you’re on autopilot are actually things you don’t learn on autopilot.
The real question of the story trailer is whether it’s all the time you were on autopilot, or whether it’s all the time you were on autopilot, or whether you were thinking that stuff about your own habits or routines on autopilot. While it’s not a great question to ask, it’s pretty easy to answer, and it’s easy to figure out and ask, that’s why we can learn from the stories in Deathloop.
Its also why the game does a great job of showing us these habits being done in the best possible light. It can be hard to imagine yourself doing a thing you dont have to do, or not doing a thing you dont have to do, but there is a huge difference between being told that you have to do something, and that you are doing it even though you have no idea what you are doing.
One of the reasons I love a game that does a really good job of showing us our habits being done in the best possible light is because I love that we can learn a lesson from being told that we have to do a thing we dont have to do. You don’t have to do anything to learn how to break a habit.
If you don’t do something that is bad for you, like quitting a job because you just can’t stand the pressure, or not having a job and having to decide whether to quit or not, you have no idea what you are doing. That’s because you have no idea if you are doing it right, or if it is good for you to do it.
