I’d like to see more companies start hiring people for new positions that aren’t just a paycheck. I know it’s not easy, but I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that most people in their 20s and 30s don’t make much money and they want to make the best of it. This is one thing that many people don’t understand about being a college student.
When I was a college student, I had to do a lot of internships and this did not make it a lot easier. Even though I was paid a salary to intern for a few people, I still had to leave the house in the morning, drive to a campus, and then do all the same work in the same office for the next few weeks. So as a college student I can say, you can definitely make a lot of money if you start doing this.
But it’s even more difficult in the real world, and even when you’re doing internships which are paid for by the college and the local government. Even though you are getting paid a salary, you have to work for a number of hours, work late nights, and have to be on call 24/7. And a lot of people dont realize how much time is actually put into an internship.
For the majority of the time I don’t see myself doing it, but I do get paid by the day and the weekend. And I have seen some people doing it. It’s a big part of the fun of traveling the world to work.
There are plenty of internships in the college and even more options for paid internships in the private sector. Many people get to work long days, long nights, and even have to work on weekends and take weekends off. If you want to intern in any city for a living, there are plenty of places to do so. The problem is most people don’t take advantage of the opportunities that they’re given. If you are an intern for a year and you’re getting paid, you are going to earn more than the person who got the internship for free. It’s just a fact of life that people will always earn more than someone who took an internship without pay.
