This website was created in response to the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) hiring of thousands of new recruits for new positions.
The Texas Department of Transportation’s job search results are pretty overwhelming. The name of the job listings is “Texas Department of Transportation”, and the search engine was found on the search results.
I got a lot of calls from Austin, Texas (from the Austin Business Journal) and San Antonio (from the San Antonio Business Journal). I have to say that I have a great deal to write about here. I’m not going to waste my time on the Texas Department of Transportation.
For some reason, I have no faith in this job-search engine. The Texas Department of Transportation is one of the state’s top employers and is highly regarded for its environmental record. I have no desire to support that record.
The thing is – it also happens to be the state’s second-biggest employer! I think that might be one of the reasons that people don’t want to apply to the job.
Of course, there are plenty of reasons why the job search engine might suck but none of them are as bad as the Texas Department of Transportation.
The first reason that people don’t apply to the job search engine is that the Texas Department of Transportation is (and still is) a government agency. In a way that is pretty impressive, since the only government organizations that I’m aware of are the military, the DMV, and the IRS. No wonder people wouldn’t want to apply to this job.
There are a number of reasons why the Texas Department of Transportation jobs site might suck. This is the first time Ive seen the site get an official banner. Also there are a lot of people who might not realize that theyve already applied to the job search site.
The company has no official name and Ive not been told. But the site is actually listed in the Dallas Morning News/Texas Daily News. Also, the site is a lot more informative than what they show on the Morning News/Texas Daily News.
Ive seen the Texas DOT jobs website. Ive seen the Texas DOT job board. If you have an opportunity to apply for both, the Texas DOT jobs site is a great resource. It shows a number of possible jobs for every industry and state. It has a number of job openings in the public and private sectors. It lists the types of positions that the public sector jobs site might have. It has links to the Texas DOT jobs job board.
